During 2020, NordPlant has continued to work on the Facility Managers’ Forum initiative. The purpose of this initiative is to stimulate collaboration between the facilities by arranging study visits and other opportunities for the persons responsible for the facilities to see the other facilities and meet the other staff.
The first of the 2020 meetings was planned to take place in Copenhagen on 19 March. However, the covid-19 pandemic made this type of physical meetings impossible to arrange. Instead, the planning group started to discuss different forms of virtual activities. One outcome of this discussion was the presentation made by Katrina Mouhu at the 2nd NordPlant Annual Day, where she described the NaPPI facility at UHEL and the process of conducting an experiment there . This presentation was recorded and can be watched here.
We also arranged a workshop for facility managers and staff on 5 November, immediately before the main meeting. At this workshop, the participants discussed what type of activities they would like NordPlant to arrange, with a particular focus on activities that can be arranged while maintaining physical isolation. One outcome of this discussion was that we will arrange a virtual study visit at the PhenoLab facility in Copenhagen on 4 March.
